Guy Parks wears many hats as a teaching professional and director of tennis at The Racquet Club of Columbus, Ohio.

Parks and a staff of seven other teaching pros have developed a complete instructional program from scratch at this 10-court (three air conditioned), indoor club since the summer of 1998. The club is now teaching more than 400 adults and juniors per week with one of the premier junior programs in the Ohio Valley.

The Racquet Club is the best place to play tennis in Columbus. It also features five racquetball courts and provides childcare for those who are not yet able to participate.

Tennis leagues as well as "Play and Learns" offer opportunities to meet new players and compete for all levels of players. The club has 15 USTA adult league teams competing in the Greater Columbus Indoor Tennis Association leagues. Levels of play include 2.5 to 5.0 levels for men and women, with four current city championship teams for 2006. The junior tennis program boasts juniors with district/sectional rankings and players who annually make it to both boys and girls state championships.

The club is the home of a sectional tournament for juniors, the Regional ICA 1999 Collegiate Championships, and the ICA 2005-2006 Indoor Singles and Doubles Championships with Ohio State University, the host school. The club hosts 10 other USTA-sanctioned tournaments per year and the guaranteed "most-fun-you-ever-had" tennis clinics.

Other club events include USA 1-2-3, Junior Team Tennis, USPTA Tennis Across America Day and participation in the Greater Columbus Tennis Association summer league team play.

The Racquet Club also offers a full-service pro shop and has a Certified Master Racquet Technician stringer on staff for racquetball, badminton and tennis players.

Membership is by the year and offers court time fees that are the most inexpensive in the area. Membership categories include lesson only, student, single and all members of one's family living at home. To find out more about the club you may access the Web site at www.racquetclub1.com for a complete list of staff and current programming.
